    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).

I live on a private airpark (6P3) with a short 2,230 long by 30 foot wide' paved rwy with grass Rwy adjacent. The rwy is not flat but has a bowl shape to it. Not horrible but not your typical municipal airport. I usually take off on the asphalt and land on the grass (Aeronca 11AC Chief)

I was wondering with such a short rwy, if a flat wing S1C would be "better" in this situation versus a round wing. I'm thinking of climb performance as well as slower stall speed for shorter landing distances.

What say you Pitts experts?
