In case anyone interested, I found some good material at Home Depot for making seat cushions. It is closed cell foam garage door insulation. Comes in 1 inch and 2 inch thick sheets. Also one sheet is enough to make several cushions and is only $28. Easy to glue together with 3m 77 glue.
Made 3 cushions various thickness up to 41/2 inch and only have $35 dollars in them. Material is very firm and does not give at all.
