Seattle II, the replica Douglas World Cruiser, made its first flight today. Just a minor hop down the runway due to IFR conditions at Boeing Field.

Seattle II is a full-scale replica of the first airplanes to fly around the world. It's powered by a Liberty V-12 engine, the same as the originals. The intent is to duplicate the 1924 Army flight.

Video was taken of the flight and should be available online soon.
