I started a Firebolt project about 15 years ago, but it's been on hold. I have the basic fuselage welded & the lower wings built. It has the plywood ribs. I also have the Skybolt News series. My main question is which is better. I've heard that the Firebolt is heavier. One reason I saw in the past was that it used square tubing. This isn't true (at least my plans specify round). What other things on the FIrebolt make it heavier? It's a few inches longer, but that shouldn't add hundreds of pounds like I've seen some claim as a weight difference. I don't plan on using a 540 on it, which would also be heavy.

Follow up question - are the plywood wing ribs better/worse than the built up ones?

Thanks
