So there I was sitting in the Acrosport……..

So for my canopy latch I made a direct copy of the extra system. I’ve made a 6” extension “stick” that I can put in to hold the canopy open some for taxi when it’s hot out. It then gets stowed before run up and takeoff. It was a beautiful day to fly and pretty warm out today so installed said stick, strapped in and started up. Began taxiing between our shop and another hangar and then the rest happened in slow motion.

Saw this little black spot come through the prop, slide along or just above the top of the fuselage and the through the, now open front of the canopy. As this black spot got bigger and proceeded to bounce off my nose I realized it was a bee! The god d&mn mother F$&king bee then stung my nose and began flying around between my helmet visor and face!…….. you laugh! This is nightmare fuel haha! I yank up the visor, the bast&rd stings me again, I grab the sob and squish it. Now realizing I’m still moving, holy sh!t, stop! Luckily I missed the well and septic sticking up for our shop as I was in mid S turn when this adventure began! I was thinking, well I got the bast&rd I could prolly go fly, but maybe this is a sign to keep your ass on the ground today, so that I did.

Will try this again tomorrow! Pic, well just because!
