Gentlemen,
A few months ago there was a discussion concerning using a battery to start without a charging system. Sounds like the battery charge was lasting quite awhile when used only for starting. Not being a fan of hand proping I am liking this idea the more I think about it.
I am building an AcroSport 1 and am going to go this route with the addition of an electric fuel pump for take off and land only. So, questions - -
1) Would a solar charger work to keep the battery topped off or at least enable the battery to go longer between charges?
2) If this is feasible how much charging power do I need ?
3) Do I need a voltage regulator considering the small voltages involved ?
4) How do I prevent overcharging ?
5) Any of you using a remote jumper cable hook-up to start at home base and save the battery ?
6) Or, what questions should I be asking ?
Electrically challenged - - who me ?
Thank you,
