I went flying with an instructor in a spin rated C172 yesterday. No, it's not an aerobatic bird, but it got my attention nonetheless. Because I'm building the Acrosport, I thought I'd better find out how I react to some spins. I was not ready for the sensory overload! He did the first one, and as we entered it I knew full well which way we were going to spin. What I did NOT expect that as we got into it my brain totally locked up! I could not recognize which direction we were going. Total surprise for me. He stopped it, asked if I was ok, and if I was ready for another. We did another in the other direction. I wasn't quite as overloaded. Then he had me do a couple. By the time we were done, I was actually able to deal with the overwhelming sensory experience and could stop it when I wanted. Yeah, it was only an introduction, and it was only a 172, but man what a rush! It's incredibly addicting. And I didn't throw up...
