    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I recently have started reading about Eddie Rickenbacker and have become fascinated with WWI biplanes. I would like to build one and fly it but I've never flown a plane. I've only been in one plane in my life, a Cessna I went skydiving from. I've seen kits on the internet. Some say they are ultralight rated. I don't know anything about getting a pilots license or even if I need one for a biplane. I have been looking all over the internet for any info I can get on building and flying a biplane. I am 40 years old and live in central Kentucky.
