I am fitting a delmar benjamin cowling to a pitts s1s. I am mounting the oil cooler on the right front baffle in place of the alternator. This kit was supplied to me by Steve Wolf. Steve provided baffling templates to make it easy to make. the problem that I'm having is I need another 3/8 of an inch between the back of the spinner plate and the teeth on the flywheel. all i have now is 1 and 7/8 where most others have 2.25 to 2.50. What's happening is when I move the cowling back to fit with a .25 gap between the spinner plate and the cowl the cowling has such a steep gradient that the baffles are hitting the cowl. I have trimmed all the baffle that i can trim. If I can just move the spinner plate forward 3/8 i wont have an issue. Anyone know of any spacers to move the prop forwardthat can be used with an aerobatic aircraft?
