I have noticed many times in flying with other pilots that we all have some maners in treating our plane. It is often linked to preserving the plane in order to avoid troubles and have it last longer.
As an example, I always run lean a third of the mixture during warm up and taxi to avoid my spark plugs turning black. I also always run the engine at 1200 RPM for 3 minutes before shut down.
Are those habits usefull ?
