Since the purchase I had the guys at Bobby's Aero in Redlands, CA working on it so it's in good enough shape to fly it to Pocatello, Idaho.
Work done so far:
Prop strike inspection and cam bolt and lock plate replaced.
Heated seats and cockpit covers
Boroscoped the cylinders
Oil analysis done. Showed a little cam or lifter metal.
Oil pump replaced
Oil filter conversion done
Main contactor replaced due to a few occasions of irregular operation.
Bungees replaced with 1280 HDs
Aileron control horn bolts replaced with correct length bolts. They were loose.
To do when I get it back to Idaho:
Plumb in the wing tank.
Install come basic insulation in the belly, behind the gear
Install canopy
Install cockpit heat box and shroud.
Personalize the tail number. Is this a big job? Reserved a couple of numbers already.
Patch a few boo boos and blemishes on the fabric.
I got a little flight instruction in a Pitts S-2A. What a plane. She's a handful but I got'r down.
I am so ready to fly my plane! Maybe this weekend or next weather dependent.
Thanks for all the good input on my last thread guys.
Dave Baxter has some great info for me. Thanks Dave.
