I have seen (thank you Chris! and BTW, they are beautiful!) the use of CNC Lasers for making ribs, nose ribs, doublers and the gussets associated with "build-up" ribs. This seems like a blend of new technology (lasers) with the old, tried and true methods (build-up methods). Has anyone tried or seen the use of a CNC (laser or router) to cut the entire set of ribs? This would allow a virtual kit to be created to make your wings and save lots and lots of time.

A long-time ago, 1980's, I designed, built and flew lots of RC aircraft. The use of "lasered" ribs was leading edge stuff back then. My question is..."Why not cut the entire rib, all types, with a 'laser' and skip all the mess and fuss associated with the built-up rib approach"?

Your Thoughts?

Jim
PS: This could be done with a CNC Laser or a Router
