    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I am trying to Re-rig my Pitts which I thought I had spot on last week but had to order new Clevis forks and pins

I splurged and bought a Bosch self levelling laser and tripod to double check my water level method

As you can see from the photos there is a large (3/4”) discrepancy between the left and right wingtip when comparing the water level and the laser.

When I measure from the floor to the top of the wing the physical measurement agrees with the laser level NOT with the water level ( I admit my hangar floor is not perfect but I don’t think it is that far out

I have always trusted a water level but today left me scratching my head, what do you trust?
