Have an O360-A1D (narrow deck, 180HP). Came with no carburetor, so just putting a carburetor on it would be some significant expense. Am planning instead to fuel inject the thing. Appears there are two options:

  1. Airflow Performance Bendix system. Never used one of these, but it seems to have some additional complexities, such as needing a "purge valve" with a cockpit control. Not even sure why it's required, what it does, when you use it,
  2. Silver Hawk: I have the Silver Hawk system on the Sportsman and it's bullet-proof and trouble free. However, might be as much as a $1000 more than the Bendix.

Anybody got any experience with the Bendix system? Comments, pros, cons?

Thanks.
