So I've got my 1/16" wood leading edges glued on and trimmed. They came out really nice, however, now there is a 1/16" step from the LE down to the top of the rib. Question is, do I leave the step in hopes that chafe tape and reinforcing tape will build it back up during covering, do I have to put a 1/16" capstrip on top of the rib, or do I just sand a taper on the LE down to meet the top of the rib? My goal is during covering that there's a seamless transition from LE to rib so it looks nice. i don't want a step right behind the LE at each rib because the rib stitching pulled the fabric down tight to the rib. Here's a pic, sorry it's not a good one and this is before I trimmed the back of the LE but hopefully you'll understand what I'm talking about.
Thanks for the help.
