Hello Folks,
I'm building the fuel tank and about to roll the beads in the sides for the straps. Is it better or easier to roll the beads in the flat sheet and then bend it to shape around the curves of the tank or bend it first and roll the beads in last? I can see plusses and minuses either way. Also, I am planning to use one piece for the side with a lap joint seam at the top. If the joint ends up in the center at the top is there an issue welding the fuel filler as a hole would have to be cut through the weld? Maybe it would be better to have a separate piece at the top with a welded seam either side of the filler? More welding and more chances for leaks I guess. As you can tell this is my first tank build. Any thoughts much appreciated. Regards, Trev.
