A Soul in the Wires - The Chronicles of a Life in Flight
The horrors of the Great War, aviation in its infancy, the adventure of barnstorming, the Hollywood movie madness, unconditional love, forgiveness to eventually find a true mission in life.
Book One available now at Amazon.com
Please consider reading A Soul in the Wires the story of a young man who sows and reaps death and destruction as a fighter pilot during the Great War to become a barnstormer that ends up in the cutthroat world of 1920s Hollywood; addicted and lost, to take up a challenge much greater than his worst aerial combat and find his true mission in life.
This chronicle counts two books: The Barnstormers Dream and The Hollywood Years. Book Three Eagles and Angels is under construction.
A Soul in the Wires follows Jonathan Pryce as he almost becomes an ace, works as a barnstormer, and a b-list movie star to end up building one of the first true airlines in the US. In the sequel, which we are now outlining, Jonathan builds on this and his son becomes his most important pilot. But World War 2 comes in between and Junior joins the Army Air Force and ends up in Europe flying covert missions into France and the Low Countries. While his father struggles to keep the company afloat Junior crashes, is captured and escapes Nazi prisons. Returning to the States he becomes a test pilot and will fly the early supersonic jets and the first jet airliners.
The lives of Jonathan Pryce and his son coincide with the most important moments in the history of flight. They also show the hardship of war, the traumatic experiences of death and destruction, the dark side of Hollywood and the value of forgiveness, friendship and love even in the darkest times of our life.
Written by Walter Leigh (pen-name of Leo Van Der Goot and Wouter Ter Reehorst)
Edited by William Hammond, US English
Ebook, available at Amazon.com, $ 6,93
We - the authors, both PPL-pilots and former biplane owners - look forward to read your reviews and feedback!
