After watching the two S-1s that flew advanced in nationals, it was really apparent that Mark Steward's plane with a pseudo-sunburst on top and the Colorado flag on the bottom presented much better than the other S-1 with only red paint on the wings.
Since I'm going to have the respirator and paint gun out this winter anyhow, I've almost convinced myself that it's not "that much" more work to pull the lower panels and shoot something on the bottom of mine. That would leave me with the "classic" Red/White sunburst on the top and something on the bottom.
For those of you who have spent more hours on the judges line, what's the best "bang for the buck"?
A) White bar with black outline along the lateral axis
B) Multiple bars aligned with the longitudinal axis
C) Diamonds
D) Something other than a checkerboard.
I realize that the judges score the magician, not the wand. But face it, you're much more likely to watch the magician favorably if they're easy on the eyes.
Opinions welcomed.
