Twenty minutes into our initial flight, just after purchase, we had the right exhaust separate just downstream of the aft cylinder. Luckily our diversion airport. Porter County IL., had an outstanding shop, Eagle Aviation, who set us up with an excellent weld shop, Eagle metal works, who were able to repair it and get us on our way later that day. Certainly the irony was we were flying an Eagle and the Eagles got us back up in the air.
We made it home, the next day, uneventfully and have had no problem other than we were told by another pilot who we were flying formation with that we had about a 2 inch wobble in the right pipe and the left was steady as a rock.
Question is, is it normal to have that movement in the right pipe? Maybe because it's slightly longer or I have something else going on?
Any ideas?
