    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I took the liberty of quoting this & Dave Baxter's post in a new thread, to not hyjack the SD thread, and because I am interested in Piets and the Aerial, if for no other reason than historical significance.

This is an interesting thread!

I have been interested in obtaining a set of Chad Willie's Aerial plans (biplane Pietenpol) but he say's he's done selling due to difficulty of making copies. I even offered to help have the copies made but he is very protective of the originals (understandably so). I thought I might eventually find a second hand set for sale but so far no luck.

Lately I have been thinking about seeing if he would sell the plans outright (straight fee or perhaps fee+royalty?). While it is a beautiful plane it would have limited marketability, I expect, inspite of the Piet's popularity. Still I hate to see it languish.

Your thoughts?

Anyone here familiar with the Aerial?
