I’m hoping this may help someone who may share this issue. During annual we noticed some play in the aileron. Was afraid I was going to have to cut the covering to get to the rear mounting bolts so I have been putting it off a little. I’m getting ready for a contest so I decided to dive in. I took the left lower aileron off and found it was something completely different. This is the picture of what you should check before you remove the aileron. You may have to make a tool it’s fairly tight in there. Just a couple of 3/8 wrenches and grind them down thin enough to slide in. Check that first since it is bear to get the inner aileron bolt back in.
