Greetings andHappy New Year to all.
My name is Mike and I'm new to this forum but not to bi-planes. I have a Bowers Fly Baby B-1, the biplane version. It's a single seat and not currently airworthy [needs recovering].
I've been looking at two seat aircraft and have decided on a Skybolt or Starduster. Recently I've had some stick time in a Hatz, which is a fine aircraft... but for the difficulty in getting into the front seat !
A few weeks back a Starduster was listed at Barnstormers, based at ABE, Allentown, just a little bit north of Philly. The owner is in New Jersey. I've communicated with the owner via email.
Aircraft n# 'N1YW', with an IO-360, manufacturer serial # 0197, a David Baxter aircraft.
Does anyone here know of this aircraft or anything about it ? I'm in Texas and am planning a visit to take a closer look about the middle of January.
I'll be busy looking over all the post here at the forum this weekend..... I hope to soon join the ranks of a Starduster Pilot...
Thanks and Best Regards...
