Skybolt, O-360A1D with RSA-5 Bendix Fuel injection.
Dukes 14V fuel boost pump.
The previous owner said to run the fuel pump on takeoff and landing. (The pump is obviously run to prime the engine for start.)
I found the installed pump leaking like a sieve, and since fuel and spark don't mix, I had it overhauled. $Ouch$ I would like to make this new pump last quite a while. In my Cardinal RG (IO-360A1B6, Dukes aux pump) I've flown for 20 years without running the pump for anything other than priming. The POH says nothing about takeoffs and landings. Of course, the Cardinal's got fuel in the wings, so I'd assume there is more head pressure than the Skybolt's main fuselage - mounted tank.
What do other Skybolt owners do with the boost pump? I'm curious and open to suggestions.
