I was checking the brake hose's today under the floorboard since I have the belly skin part way off and I found a spot on one of the hoses that was wearing in one tiny spot pretty much a 16th deep into the sheathing already.
Only 179 hours. It appears that the hose is hitting a rivet nut just right each time the rudder pedal is operated. What surprised me is it is so consistent that it contacts the exact same spot each time. Glad I found this now. A little amalgamating tape and a short piece of hose installed over it to pad the rivet nut and this will be fixed. I am not sure if this is just specific to my airplane but I just thought I would pass it along in case any of you see something similar. I would not have found it had I not ran my hand along the length of the hose checking.
