Hi All,
Are there any artists among us? I've had this idea for an aerial dogfight music video to the tune of the Good, Bad, and Ugly theme song that my friends and I are planning to shoot in Los Angeles/Catalina Island this summer. This is purely for fun--non commercial.
I have a screenplay and a crude storyboard sketched out, but would like someone who is more artistically inclined to redraw them. Purpose of this storyboard is twofold:
1) A quality storyboard gives this project some legitimacy. It makes it easier to garner interest from other collaborators
2) Some of the sequences are elaborate (e.g. rolling scissors) and require quality illustrations to convey to collaborators without a background in aviation.
PLOT:
An innocent pilot (UGLY) ferrying an important briefcase is suddenly jumped by a bandit (BAD). A tense aerial engagement ensues. They are both shot down by a sneaky late-comer (GOOD) who jumps in on the fray. The bandit is no more. The innocent ditches into the sea. Drenched, he walks ashore with the briefcase and opens it, only to find it empty. He curses at the bastard, who makes a low fly-by with a coy grin. In his back seat lies the real brief case.
AIRCRAFT:
Ugly: Stearman, Waco, or other low wing loading biplane with 2 seats
Bad: Low-wing with bubble canopy, preferably tandem seating; RV-8, DA-40, or Ercoupe. Needs to be similar in performance to biplane.
GOOD: TBD; must be significantly different in appearance from Ugly and Bad.
ABOUT MYSELF:
I am a young aeronautical engineer working for a local defense company in Los Angeles. I own a PA-28 out of Hawthorne airport. Many of my friends fly out of Torrance.
LOOKING FOR:
Plane owners
Artists
Filmmakers
Please let me know if this is something you can get excited about. I'd definitely love to have more people involved. This will definitely be a learning experience for me.
Best,
Yuto
