Flop tube change out

I know someone here will have changed out a Christen Eagle flop tube (due age in this case). Could I ask please:

- Space looks tight between tank (standard tank) and firewall rear, is it even possible with the tank in situ? Or, best to drain tank, release tank straps, drop tank down/aft to allow enough space to remove flop tube?

Thread Sealant? EZ turn (fuel lube)
