The topic of jacking landing gear for routine maintenance has come up in the past. I thought I'd share what I came up with to jack the gear for wheel removal on my Starduster. I just modified a small jack by removing the pad that came on the jack and welded up a short piece of angle iron that the inboard portion of the axle will nest in. Welded some support legs on to each side of the jack to prevent the jack from tipping or nosing over when the aircraft weight is on it. Works real well.
