So I installed a smoke system on a friend’s Eagle with its standard 4-into-2 exhaust. Per kit supplier instructions, I installed the injectors high up on the exhaust tubes for #1 and #2 cylinders, ahead of the exhaust slip joints on both sides. When activated the smoke is leaking out of the system on both sides out the rear of the cheek cowlings, enough to be noticeable in the cockpit thru the gasper vents. We ground ran it with cheek cowling off to try pinpointing the leaks. Both injectors are tight on their respective tubes. I suspect it’s escaping thru the slip joints, as I’ve heard there’s substantial back pressure in the stock exhaust. Does this seem plausible?
