I have a question for our esteemed panel of engine experts of which I am not a member.
I have a Lycoming IO360-A3B6D which has only one mag hole for the dreaded D-2000 magneto. Any righteous dude will tell you two mags is better than one so what I want to do is switch over to two mags.
First question, will a 540 accessory case fit a 360? they use the same gasket PN so I'm guessing it will fit.
Can I do this without changing my crank? the crank has the big bolt hole s I'm assuming I would have to use the A3B6D crank gear.
I'm experimental so any type certificate conflicts mean nothing to me as long as the stuff works reliably.
The reason I ask about the 540 case is they are easier to find than the 360 pieces.
