As of today, I am the proud owner of a 1942 Boeing PT17 or commonly known as a Stearman. I traded my beloved L-19 Bird Dog for this gem because I have trouble passing a good trade. I am currently in Quakertown PA where the Stearman has been based, to see my warm blooded transfer pilot off tomorrow morning. Yes it will be cold, but I have done my best to outfit the pilot in a heated vest, socks, Arctic mittens, Thinsulate gloves, shearling helmet, scarf and a snowmobile suit.
With luck and skill, the Stearman will be in Texas by Sunday.
