    Why become a Subscribing Member?

    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

It was long ago in 1977 when I got checked out in an S2A. The pilot instructing me was a highly respected competition and airshow pilot in the Phoenix area. His name was Walt Tubb. I only flew with him 3 times to prep for flying my newly acquired S1S home from Florida to AZ. Since almost everything you wanted to know is on-line now, I thought I check to see if anything was out there on Walt. There is and here is the article I found.
