I am changing the oil inverted pick-up from the 'tee' on the oil separator hose to the vacuum pump attachment location.

According to the Lycoming parts catalog, on my engine there should be a pad (~2 " long) and a closure plate on top of the pad. In my airplane, however, there is only a closure plate bolted directly to the engine. The pad is gone.

Besides replacing the closure plate with a new plate with the fitting for the oil hose, do I need to do anything else for the inverted oil pick-up at the new location to work?

Thanks
