I'm tracking down a small oil leak on my stock 0-360 and I have a couple questions. It appears to be coming from the back top center of the engine near the tach drive housing and leaks down to the back sump bolts.
1) Is this a common area for leaks?
2) How much of a PITA is it to change the tach housing gasket?
I came across an answer on another forum where the owner tried everything to get the tach housing to stop leaking from buying a new housing, using permatex and finely someone suggested using old 1/16" cork and rubber gasket material and cutting out his own gasket and it worked.
How large of a can of worms am I opening?
