    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Hi all, this S-1S in Fredericksburg, VA was built by the same family that built my Model 12. The engine on my Model 12 had a prop strike prior to its first flights and the engine was never inspected before the overhauled prop was put back on and the plane was flown. The prop strike was never disclosed to me in my discussions with the seller and it was never entered into the logs. I found out about it when I discovered the receipt for the prop overhaul in the mess of paperwork I got with the plane. Instead of flying the plane home, the engine was shipped out for inspection and the airframe was trailered home.

If you attempt to buy this Pitts, use caution, ask a lot of questions, and scrutinize everything.
