I had a supplemental inspection a while back on the Jake Duster , and learned up here in Canada the governing homebuilt inspection authority "mdra" had some revisions of safety additions/ for inspections...
My airframe luckily was precover inspected a while back in 1983 and i had the then authority "Transport Canada" letter of release and authorized to cover for final insp befor flight testing..so im ok , but the recent inspector was looking for the control stops at both ends of control inputs, of which i had literally only the new aileron slave strut design and stops built in, nothing else lol!
And in all the discussion, i learned alot, but was also told id need also to add an additional rudder cable support each side , as the ~76" distance as drawn on the plans was to long distance unsupported ! Lol
And my bird was already covered, and in silver uv coat already...grrr
If anyone needs some referance if faa rules change following suit, i thought an Adel clamp setup was not the greatest decision, so i copied an old wartime tube clamp , and some -3an hardware, good binoculars in my welding helmet for the tight tig welding,
Creative criticisms appreciated if i over invented this but i cannot twist the new fairlead mount once tightened, and was better than stripping fabric or trying to stuff my old stiff body through some x tubes that id probably never get out of later without the help of a hoist and crane lol
