    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I have a PS5 on a 160hp O320-E2D. The idle is set correctly (about 600) and the rpm rises about 10 rpm when shutting down with the mixture as the manual requires. It runs ok on the ground except it sounds and feels too rich. In the air it runs great except when I try to lean it, the rpm does not increase, it just eventually starts to decrease.
The Plugs get sooty black within an hour of running even though it runs smoothly.
Is there a way to adjust it or could it be an internal issue?
