S1S (Raven Mods)

This was a complete Pitts S1S built from factory kits/parts in 1986, all logs and CoA included. <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

It had approximately 500hrs on the airframe then sent to Raven Aircraft for modification. Complete aircraft with engine and propeller removed.
Modifications include spring gear conversion. New spring gear included, custom built by Grove and includes wheels and brakes. Dimensions are 23.75â tall (stock 21.75â), 52â track (stock 48â) and 1â thick (stock 7/8â). Weighs 25.4lbs compared to stock weight of 21lbs.
New tail section built by Raven, squared off similar to the Raven 2XS. Vertical fin also modified. Modified for Raven locking tailwheel.
Wings are custom Raven with long span ailerons, squared off tips and 1â longer cord, usual Raven wing mods have been incorporated. Lowers have been built by Raven, upper wing needs to be finished. All kit parts are included. These will be awesome wings, custom fit for this fuselage. Flying wires included.
Fuselage has been modified to fit sheet metal to the rear, similar to the 2XS. Will make for easy inspections and no weight penalties are anticipated.
Includes 4 into 1 exhaust, some instrumentation.
It comes with the old (factory) bungee landing gear, original sheet metal, canopy, firewall, cowl, fuel tank, controls etc etc. The original parts that are not included are the tail grouping, wings, I struts and slave struts.
This is an advanced project for someone to complete, it wouldnât take much to get it back in the air. It will definitely be a performer.
This aircraft was going to be used to test some concepts for the Raven 1XS, there has been a change of plans and the 1XS will continue to be built from the ground up.
Once finished, this will be a one of a kind aircraft, built from factory parts and modified by one of the best there is.
I know this is inconsistent with the Forum rules (sorry Beej & Daryl!) but will be accepting offers. I have invested a fair bit of cash into this but would like to sell it relatively quickly to fund other projects.
