Being sure this has been dissected and discussed, I apologize for not finding that in the files. We are struggling with cracking (beer canning) and leaks on the fore and aft walls of our Pitts S2A fuel tank. I believe there was an article on this written in the late 70s or early 80s and so far I haven't found that either, looking. Luckily I have a very good automotive radiator repair shop that enjoys doing the repair work and has offered to build a new tank to specs if requested. We've had a significant crack repair about 4 months ago and it was done well and holding up well, have a new crack now, there are existing repairs from prior to my ownership, those are healthy. The questions I'm working to answer are; are there after market options? I'm assuming Griggs will build one. Any other options? What modifications if any help reduce the incidence? Baffling? Bracing? Doubling? Thanks for any help here.
