    Why become a Subscribing Member?

    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

When I built the attach fittings for the Center Section. (the fittings that are welded to the fuselage at Station 0, top), I see a callout of .315 for the hole size with an edge margin of .437
This gives about 1.5 x Dia of fastener for edge margin. From what I've seen in the aircraft industry, E.M. should be more like 2 time Dia minimum. this would be an E.M. of .63 instead of .437

Anybody have any thoughts?
