I just got a call from someone at Wicks, who told me roughly the following story:

Since you placed your order [in June, 2017], we've gotten two huge shipments of Spruce in, and out of those two shipments, we have found literally no lengths that are high enough quality to fill your order [or the other orders we've got pending]. In light of the losses we're taking on Spruce, we've decided to quit trying to sell it, so we're canceling your order. The only business left which is selling Spruce spar stock is Aircraft Spruce. We're very sorry to have to deliver this news.

So, I'm now thinking about the possibility of laminating some spar stock, since I can't imagine ACS is in a much better position.
