I recently picked up a Narco Transponder that I want to install in my Acrosport II. I know that I will need an encoder, and a rack for the transponder, but is there anything else? Has anyone here ever installed a transponder?

I know that I can handle the wiring and installation, but I am wondering about who has to sign the logbooks for the installation to be legal. Can my A&P/IA sign that off, or does an avionics guy have to sign it off?
