So I have had about enough of a plane that uses sheet metal screws hold the panels on as the screws constantly fell out and eventually started to strip out. So click bonds it is. So far I have installed about 150 of them and need about 40 more to finish them all. I think I need a money break. Way better than riveting nut plates but the expense....My calculations show plus 5 oz or less weight gain, counting screws.
I am tired of the brake reservoirs and access to them. Last year we installed Berringer brakes but left the Grove Master Cylinders. I don't have access panels so the only to get to them without disassembly (a lot) is to sit inside and reach them, not very easy to do. So I got these Berringer remote reservoirs (outrageously expensive) and plan to mount them so I have access just reaching inside. The nice thing is they are sealed like a car with a diaphragm and clear for checking level. Much easier to bleed as well. Justin so far hasn't been convinced that the extra 4-5 oz (total for 2, hoses/fittings/clamp) is worth it. but they look so nice. And they were not cheap. Picture of where I am thinking of mounting them. Haven't seen anyone else mount like this. (the tubing is rated for mineral oil).
November we bought Michael Goulian's Red Bull air racer (Edge 540, N540BF). Not sure what we were thinking of. It was between this or a Giles 202 kit......Currently I am on a quest to find a stock header tank. I was told I could convert to a more stock canopy and stock turtle deck. I have the part they cut off for the stock turtle deck, a stock turtle deck, what looks to be a blank a bubble and maybe a mold for making the rest but have no clue if it works with the lowered cowling. It came with boxes of spart parts/tools, molds, shipping crates and tools. We shall see how it works out. So a picture of Justin getting ready for takeoff at Palatka, Fl. Warren Cilliers is doing the ground check out.
Last one is a picture someone sent me about planes. It fits the bill, I am 71 now and after buying the plane above will be stuck working long after I am old and gray.....wait..I am already old, just not gray...
