Happy Wright Brothers Day to all you biplane fans. One hundred eight years ago today a 120 foot long flight brought us all to where we are today, designing, building, and flying our own airplanes. I always challenge my crew members at work with: Famous day in history! What is it? December 7, 1941 - April 18, 1942 - June 6, 1944 - September 2, 1945 - July 20, 1969 - and on and on with other famous dates. They usually don't know that answers, since most of them are more interested in contemporary music and cars and electronics than they are with the sacrificesmadeby those whomade such things possible. I never board an airlines without silently thanking Jimmy Doolittle for literally inventing instrument flying. What we get to do with airplanes is truly amazing and humbling, and I am very grateful to be able to be a part of it. Thanks to each of you for sharing your knowledge and experience with others who love what we do.
