Made the deal on this Pitts S-1S the end of last week. I’ve wanted a Pitts since I went to my first airshow in the 90’s as a kid. Lucky for me this one was local to me at my hometown airport.
I remember seeing this Pitts when the previous owner brought it up to Columbia from LA in 2007ish. I was living in LA and flying out of Van Nuys at the time but would come home and always see this red Pitts at the airport. I forgot about it until I was talking to my brother-in-law at the Father’s Day fly-in about dreaming of owning a Pitts and getting into acro.
He says “our hanger neighbor has one that hasn’t flown for a few years”. He sends me the owners contact info and after a week or so a deal was made.
She needs a little TLC but hope to have her flying in 3 months or so.
